Estelle's Bedtime Stories.

Hi, its Nebulae here, back with a post I originally made on Tumblr, about Estelle, Percy's little sister. (You guys get extra because you're amazing.)

Every single one of Estelle's bedtime stories is true.

It starts when she asks about a picture he has of the Argo II's crew. That night, she gets a story about gods and monsters and magic and friends and battles. But her favourite part is that its all completely true.

One day, Annabeth mentions Luke in passing and Estelle's curious. Annabeth gives her a bedtime story that night about Luke Castellan, a hero.

Grover comes over and Estelle asks 'Uncle Grover' to tell her the one about the time he met Pan. He tells her pretty much his life story instead.

During an Argo II reunion, the Seven take turns telling stories about their lives to Estelle. Hazel talks about her past in New Orleans, Jason tells her about his first time summoning lightning, Annabeth talks about being on the run with Luke and Thalia, Leo tells her how beautiful Ogygia is. Frank reads her a normal book about the zoo, but he turns into the animals as he reads. Piper is one of the best since her charmspeak can persuade Estelle to believe anything she says, so the wildest stories seem very real. Even Coach Hedge gets in on the act, telling her about his short career in teaching.

Estelle asks why Percy's so upset whenever he sees a thunderstorm, and the bedtime story is about his good friend Jason Grace, son of Jupiter.

Nico being her favourite of Percy's friends because he tells her stories he heard from some of the world's greatest (dead) heroes.

Percy telling her about all the people he lost along the way, turning his favourite memories of them into stories of love and bravery.

Estelle always loving going through Percy's photo albums because he tells her the story about every photo.

Rachel drawing pictures of her favourite tales and putting them into a book alongside Percy's stories so she can enjoy them while Percy is away in New Rome college. They video call every night anyway, to enjoy the magic of Percy's comments.

Thalia telling tall tales she heard from Artemis about the world thousands of years ago.

Estelle loving Percy with all her heart and even when most people start pretending they're too old for bedtime stories, Estelle still has one every night because she fell in love with Percy's world as much as we did.

Her shelves fill with other books, but before she reads them, she gets her tale of wonder and war from her big brother.

Sally is the one behind the Riordanverse because she first wrote them for Percy to tell his little sister the full story.

Floor nineteen, Blitzen, Hearthstone, and Sam coming to visit and Estelle getting stories from Viking times and the civil war and Norse myths alongside the story of Magnus stopping Ragnarok.

Sadie and Carter sending some tapes with stories about magic and travelling the world and gods taking over their bodies that enthral Estelle.

Estelle still Skypeing Percy every night when she's a college student. Percy is pushing forty now but he still loves sharing his world with his little sister. He never seems to run out of stories, and if he does, Annabeth or one of his other friends taking the wheel with tales about brave warriors and lovers and magic and monsters. And they never tell a single lie because all of it is real.

When Sally dies, Estelle is the one who sends her old bedtime stories to Rick Riordan, a demigod who left CHB years ago. He agrees to publish them, and Percy's story enthrals a whole new generation of kids.

Percy is old and dying when Estelle asks him for one last story. And he refuses. Because if its a final story, that means it's over. And it never truly is because new stories are being made all over the world right this minute. Percy's final words to Estelle are: "Write yourself a new bedtime story. Make it one you tell your kids, who tell there's. Keep the stories alive, and they'll never truly end."
