Xmas 2020 Book Haul

This is a month overdue, but better late than never, right? If you'd like to see more of these, let me know in the comments!

Hollowpox - The Hunt For Morrigan Crow

I just finished this book, full review coming soon! Hollowpox is the third book in the Nevermoor series. Morrigan is a year into her studies at Wunsoc when an epidemic spreads through Nevermoor, causing Wunnimals to behave like vicious unnimals. Heightening tensions between Wunnimals and humans trigger mass protests and new sanctions against Wunnimals. But then a huge secret gets out and Mog has her own problems to deal with. I loved this book, it's probably my favourite so far from the series but did Jessica Townsend really have to end on that cliffhanger?

They Both Die In The End

This book is set in a world where you find out you're going to die the day it happens. When Mateo and Rufus discover they're both going to die on the same day, they reach out to each other through an app called Last Friend. Together, they decide to go on one last adventure: To live a lifetime in just one day. I am incredibly excited to get my heart torn out by this book. It is next on my to-read list, so expect a review in the next few weeks.

The Castle Of Tangled Magic.

This is Sophie Anderson's third book based on Russian folklore. Her first book, The House With Chicken Legs, is one of my favourite middle-grade fantasy books. I've yet to read The Girl Who Speaks Bear, but I will get to it eventually. The Castle Of Tangled Magic is something I have been looking forward to for a while and I can't wait to dive in. It's about Olia, a girl who steps through a secret doorway and into a magical land that it's her destiny to save.

Dear Evan Hansen

In case you somehow don't know, me and Misty really like musicals. Dear Evan Hansen was the musical that pulled me into the theatre community and I can't wait to cry over its novel adaptation.

The Infernal Devices

The Shadowhunter Chronicles have been endlessly recommended to me but I never read them until last year, when I borrowed City Of Bones from my school library. I didn't love it, but that was mainly down to characters rather than writing or world. Since then, I read the first book of Wesley Chu and Cassandra Clare's latest series The Eldest Curses. I loved the Red Scrolls Of Magic, and I can't wait to read The Lost Book of White. I'm now a lot more interested, knowing more about the world.

The Lovely Bones

This is a book I hadn't heard of until recently. The Lovely Bones is the story of a murdered teenage girl in the afterlife. I don't know a whole lot about this book, but I'll get back to you when I've read it.

The Boy At The Back Of The Class

Ever since I read The Star Outside My Window, I have been itching for another book by Onjali Rauf. This book is about the classmates of a young refugee boy trying to help him find his family before the borders close. I've already read this book, and it was probably the most heartwarming book I've read in a while. It also manages to be political while still being fun to read, something I know from experience is hard to do.

That's all for now, I hope you had an amazing holiday!
